Matt Donvovan of the Brighton Braves is the winner of both the 2023 Johnny Pesky Rookie of the Year.
Donovan would join Braves in June after finishing up his senior year at Stoneham High School. Once with the Braves, Donovan would have an impact not only in the lineup, but also on the mound.
For the regular season, Donovan would hit .400 with 12 RBI an 9 runs scored. On the mound, he would appear in 7 games compiling a record of 2-2 with 1 save with a 1.75 ERA. In 20 innings pitched, Donovan would allow 16 hits with 8 walks while striking out 23.
