The Yawkey Baseball League is proud to award the 2024 Franchise of the Year to the Brighton Brighton Braves.
The Brighton Braves entered the 2024 season aiming to build on a strong finish from 2023. Despite a challenging start last year with an 8-26 record, the Braves turned things around in the second half, making a playoff appearance and putting up a solid performance in the postseason.
The Braves began the 2024 season with impressive form, winning 5 of their first 6 games. This early success helped them secure the second seed in the playoffs.
In the postseason, the Braves defeated the Al Thomas Athletics 3-2 in the semifinals to advance to the finals, where they faced the defending champion Brighton Black Sox. After losing the first game of the series, the Braves rallied to take a 3-2 series lead. Although they eventually lost the series in seven games, the Braves demonstrated resilience and determination throughout.
