On their way to sweeping the playoffs and capturing a third straight YBL Championship, the Brighton Black Sox saw several players deliver outstanding performances. But one player shined brightest — and most consistently. For that steady excellence, Justine Makisimu was named the 2025 David Ortiz Postseason MVP.
In seven playoff games, Makisimu hit .462 and scored 11 runs. He scored at least once in every game and twice in four of them. Makisimu added seven RBIs and eight steals, igniting the Black Sox offense all postseason.
This is Makisimu’s second playoff MVP award as he was name co-MVP last year with Ross Zamparelli. Congrats Justine on a fabulous post season performance.
