YBL Announces Roster For 2018 EMass Classic

The Yawkey League roster for the 2018 EMass team has been announced by manager Nate Laliberte of the Revere Rockies. The roster features players from all ten teams and contains a mix of YBL veterans as well as several rookies.

The Yawkey League takes on the Intercity League as it looks to repeat as champions. The game takes place at 2pm on Saturday July 11 at Father Monan Field on the BC High/UMass Boston campus.

2018 EMass Classic Announced

The Yawkey League is honored to be hosting the 2018 Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic on Saturday July 14. The All-Star tournament now in its 7th year features teams from Intercity League, Park League, Cranberry League and Yawkey League. All games will be played at Father Monan Field on the Campus of Boston College High School and UMass Boston.

Dave McKay was recently interviewed by the Revere Journal where he spoke to strength of the YBL and the parody of its teams:

While there are few outliers, McKay said the league’s parity has been good. “Any team can beat any (other) team on a given night,” he said.

An assembly of collegiate players, former high school stars, post-collegiate players and local amateurs, McKay said the Yawkey League stands as one of the top amateur leagues in Eastern Massachusetts. The Yawkey League All Stars were the winners of last season’s Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic.

“Our talent is on par or better than many of the other leagues in the area,” he said.
