Semifinals Set To Begin

The Yawkey League semifinals will being on Tuesday August 11.

The #1 seed East Boston Expos will take on the #5 seed Brighton Black Sox with the best of five series beginning at 8pm at East Boston Stadium (map).

In the other series the #2 Charlestown Townies will play the #3 Stoneham Sabers starting at 8pm at Pine Banks (map).

Deciding Games Scheduled For Sunday

Game three for both best of three first round series are set to be played on Sunday.

The Black Sox took a 1-0 series lead in their series with The BASE with a 6-5 win on Friday night. The BASE would come up with two runs in the sixth and two runs in the seventh to take game two 6-4. The deciding game in the series will be played at Ronan Park.

In the other series, Stoneham forced a deciding game 3 with an 11-6 win on Saturday against Al Thomas. Game 3 between Al Thomas and Stoneham will be played at Recreation Park in Stoneham.

The Post Season Begins

A little over four weeks ago, it was still unclear whether we would play any baseball this summer. Now four weeks and fourteen games later, we are now ready to start the playoffs.

With a shortened regular season, the playoffs with begin with a one game elimination round on Thursday August 6.

#7 Al Thomas Club  vs #6 McKay Club  Ronan Park   7:30 PM
#8 Brighton Braves vs #5 Black Sox   Rogers Park  7:30 PM

The winners from the elimination round, move on to best of three first round. The #3 seed Stoneham Sabers will face the lowest remaining seed from the elimination round. The #4 seed The BASE will face the highest remaining seed from the elimination round. The #1 seed East Boston Expose and #2 seed Charlestown Townies earned byes for the first round.

The post season will conclude with best of five semifinal and championship rounds.

Robert Lewis throws out first pitch at Red Sox home opener


Before the Red Sox opened the 2020 season against the Baltimore Orioles, YBL franchise holder Robert Lewis was joined by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Mass. Governor Charlie Baker to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
