With victories over the Cranberry League and Park League, the YBL claimed its third Eastern Mass Classic Title.

In game one, the Yawkey League trailed the Cranberry League 4-1 with five outs to go. The Yawkey League then scored six unanswered runs to defeat the Cranberry League 7-4. The comeback was highlighted by an RBI single by Al Thomas’ Ben Lewis, and an RBI double by Liam Moreno of the Brighton Braves.

In the championship game, Liam Moreno provided all the offense needed to default the Park League 5-4. Moreno hit two home runs and drove in all five runs. For his performance Liam Moreno was named the tournament MVP.

Congratulations to Manager John Moore of the McKay Club and all of the Yakwey League All Stars.

Once again the Eastern Mass Amateur Baseball Classic will be broadcasted by Local Sports Productions. Sam Feeley and his team will be live streaming all of the action.

The tournament takes place on Saturday July 13. The Intercity League will take on the Boston Park League at 11:00 AM. The Cranberry League and Yawkey League will meet at 2:00 PM. At 5:00 PM the winners will meet for the Eastern Massachusetts Baseball Classic Championship.

The Yawkey League roster for the 2019 EMass team has been announced by manager John Moore of the McKay Club. The roster features players from all ten teams and contains a mix of YBL veterans as well as several rookies.

The Yawkey League will play the Cranberry League in Game 2 of the tournament. The game takes place at 2pm on Saturday July 13 at Lexington High School (map).

The Yawkey League is honored to once again participate in the 2019 Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic on Saturday July 13. The All-Star tournament now in its 8th year features teams from Intercity League, Park League, Cranberry League and Yawkey League. All games will be played at Lexington High School (map).

On Sunday June 23, Bryan Curran of the McKay Club no hit the Brighton Black Sox. Curran hit a batter, walked one and struck out seven as the McKay Club beat the Brighton Black Sox 9-0. Hitting for himself, Curran went 2-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Curran is in the second year of his second stint with the McKay Club. Now primarily a pitcher, Curran previously played for the McKay Club from 2008-2012.

The no hitter by Curran is the third no hitter thrown in the Yawkey League this season. Congrats Bryan.
