YBL holds Alumni Game

Yawkey League Alumni

On Friday May 13 the Yawkey Baseball League held what we believe is a first of its kind for local amateur baseball, an Alumni game made up of 20 former YBL players from over 13 different Franchises going back as far as the late 1980’s.

The game was held at Rogers Park, the oldest in use park in the league for close to 50 years. It was a great night of baseball and a celebration of the history of our league.

It was a great time and a really fun experience.  We are looking forward to next years game.

Wrapping up 2021

As we approach our final league meeting of the year, the Yawkey Baseball League would like to thank the Yawkey Foundation for its continued amazing support, guidance and friendship. The generous grant from the Yawkey Foundation has allowed the YBL to carry out its mission of providing competitive baseball for young men in a structured, safe environment.

Their administration has worked with our Board to explore opportunities to advance the makeup of the league in an effort to grow and develop in today’s climate with genuine sensitivity to issues of race, diversity and economics.

The Board applauds the Yawkey Foundation for its incredible commitment to community issues and needs, as well as the continued financial support that allows the YBL to carry out its mission for young men in Boston and surrounding areas.
